Think of the prophetic words of Isaiah, who talked about the coming of a suffering servant (Isaiah 53), and how Christians see this as complete in the person of Jesus Christ. It is easy to look at politics or worldly events and say “this is it” or “this is when Christ will return”. These predictions have never been correct by others and it gives Christians a bad name.
What is really interesting is that not even Jesus knows the exact day or time .. Only God knows this. People often ask me what I think.. I tell them this… I would say that we are living in the outer rings (meaning things are progressively getting worse which is pointing to the second coming but I in no way could tell you “this is it” nor would I ever want to. If Jesus does not know the exact time how could I or anyone say that we do?
Why Prophecy Still Matters
In a world full of confusion, changing ideas, and cultural chaos, the prophetic voice of Scripture still rings as a strong guide. It offers clarity where there is muddle, hope where there is sadness, and a divine purpose amid the noise of human story. Prophecy encourages believers not just to look ahead to the future but to see the present in light of God’s eternal plan.
More than this, prophecy helps Christians deal with the difficulties of life with the understanding that God is very much involved in history and in the lives of His people. The prophetic messages all through the Bible remind believers that God’s word is not still or unimportant but lively, speaking into every time with sharpness, depth, and authority. It calls the Church to be careful, loyal, and hopeful, always aware that God’s promises are not inactive but alive and close to fulfillment.

And in Revelation, see the eye-opening connections between old and new testaments, similarities in language with the Egyptian plagues and the connection with life as we are living right now.
